Tungsten wedding bands are a groundbreaking and stylish way to make a statement that is both fashionable and meaningful. The novel appeal of tungsten rings sends a special message to your beloved and every guest present at your wedding, as these rings are so durable and unique. The renowned strength of tungsten carbide rings makes this metal the ideal symbol of a love that will endure.
tungsten rings were once used as a form of identification, particularly among ruling classes and families, and these origins can still be seen today in the use of class tungsten rings for students, signet tungsten rings denoting a monogram or one’s membership in an organization, and tungsten rings given as trophies for victory in competitions (for instance and perhaps most famously, the Super Bowl.)
Other tungsten rings express indentifying information as well. Birthstone tungsten rings make use of the mythology surrounding particular precious and semi-precious gems and their effects on different kind of people and assigns them to particular months or astrological signs. Mother’s tungsten rings are a more recent development in the vein of birthstone jewelry, as these tungsten rings are designed to hold birthstones representing each of a mother’s children.
Other tungsten rings represent interpersonal relationships, and the best-known types of tungsten rings are among these. Friendship tungsten rings are popular in certain regions, and one might have trouble finding anyone in the modern world unfamiliar with the engagement tungsten ring or wedding band and what they mean. One style of tungsten ring that notably serves many functions is the claddagh tungsten ring, an Irish symbol of love, loyalty, and friendship. The latter makes it quite popular as a friendship tungsten ring (especially as a gift), and claddagh tungsten rings can also serve as engagement and wedding bands with the hand on which it’s worn and the direction of the heart’s point indicating the wearer’s status.
Another classic ring profiles is the flat, or pipe cut, shape. These rings are perhaps the simplest type of wedding band design.

Diamond Fashion Rings are one type of fashion jewelry. Fashion jewelry are those jewelry that people wear partly for fashion or styling purposes, and partly for functional purposes; or maybe just for fashion and styling purposes alone.
That may be a satiric narrative but the subject is dead serious. Blood diamonds are used to fund wars and other brutal activities in certain parts of the world. Diamonds sold in this illicit trade promote violence and kill people; you want to make sure that your own non conflict diamonds.
The useful question would then be: How do I know if a diamond is a conflict diamond or a conflict free diamond? For practical purposes, the answer would really be: “There is no absolute way you can tell, especially if the diamond has already been polished.” Difficult? Sure. This is challenging if you want to know whether or not the diamond you already own is “tainted”. However, there are still some precautionary measures which are in place and which you can take in order to avoid purchasing a conflict diamond.
What carat diamond should you buy? It is usually a matter of personal taste. For engagement rings, many people seek diamonds that are approximately 1ct in weight. Obviously budget plays a large part in the decision. See also the discussion about budget.
In addition to “Certificate of Origin”, some countries have set up their own measures in order to ensure that blood diamonds are not released in their markets.

Another creative proposal idea is to place an ad in a local newspaper. You could place an outrageous ad in a newspaper asking anyone who was willing to get married to give you a call and include a fictitious phone number.
Then when you and your girlfriend are reading the paper together, you could point out the ad as a joke and while she is reading the ad, seize the opportunity to pull out the engagement ring and let her know that you would love to marry her.
One creative way to propose for a couple involved in a long distance relationship is to plan a surprise visit and set up a scavenger hunt. You could have a friend pick you up from the airport so that your girlfriend does not know that you are coming to visit and have the friend give your girlfriend instructions for the scavenger hunt. You could hide a number of small surprises such as candy, flowers and a CD as the first few stops on the scavenger hunt and then hide at the final location poised to propose when your girlfriend completes the game.
An outdoor and nature enthusiast might appreciate a creative proposal during a camping trip. It’s a good idea to plan a quiet trip for just you and your girlfriend at a picturesque location. You could hide the ring in your sleeping bag to use in a surprise proposal.
Camping proposals can be very romantic. When it is time to go to sleep after a long day of hiking and fishing, you could complain that there must be a rock or something underneath you and then pull out the ring and make your proposal. This creative proposal also contains the element of surprise as a camping trip is not a usual proposal location, yet is very secluded and romantic.

So you have both decided that he will wear a men’s wedding ring! Once the man or couple have made the decision to purchase a men’s wedding ring for him there are still choices to make. Do they want to wear a matching set? Or does he prefer that his ring looks quite different to his wife’s. It is perfectly possible for a couple to buy a ring set where the style of the rings match perfectly, or even with matching engraved messages of love.
Secondly whilst the wearing of jewelry by women is so common as to go unremarked that is not necessarily the case for men. For many men the wearing of men’s wedding bands is just a case of being asked to wear jewelry. Men often do not feel comfortable wearing jewelry and in many cases have never done so before. Whilst some men see their wedding band as different to wearing ordinary jewelry, others feel just the same as if they were being asked to wear ear rings. “It’s just not done by men”. The author, for example, wears a man wedding band, but would never consider wearing any other form of jewelry.
Which finger is the ring worn on, and why? Generally a man’s wedding band is worn on the ring finger, the same as for women. The ring finger, for those unmarried men not familiar with the concept, is the fourth finger of the left hand. This is considered to be the finger closest to the heart.
This notion came originally from the ancient Greeks who believed that this finger had an artery which flowed straight to the heart. Whilst anatomically incorrect this makes for good fable.
Culture is also a consideration. In many cultures the wearing of wedding rings by men would never be considered. Men must think about how their particular culture, and also their religion, would view the wearing of a wedding band.

There are a number of issues to consider. Firstly, is he concerned about a public display of his marital status? Some men, whether rightly or wrongly, are threatened by this. Others are not in the least concerned.
There are many different ring materials which also reflect the personality of the individual. Titanium or Platinum are both becoming much more popular. Whilst diamonds are not, of course, as popular with men as with women, they do make a clear statement which pleases some men who choose them. Diamond men’s rings clearly say “I can afford it” or at least the big ones do. But it can be a brave man who chooses to wear a large diamond band.
And as many men have never worn any form of jewelry before they have no idea what it will feel like to have something permanently on the finger. Is it heavy? Does it rub? Silly as it may seem to women this can be of concern to some men. (If this genuinely is of concern it is quite possible to find a cheap jewelry shop, buy the cheapest ring available and wear it for a while. See exactly what it feels like. And find out your size at the same time.)
If you think of jewelry as something only for women and girls, fear not. Your ring need not be effeminate. Most men’s rings are simple wide bands that would never be confused with women’s jewelry. On the contrary, such a ring can add to the width and look of strength of your hands. Ask your jeweler to assist you with styles that will be the most flattering and tasteful worn on your particular hand.
Culture is also a consideration. In many cultures the wearing of wedding rings by men would never be considered. Men must think about how their particular culture, and also their religion, would view the wearing of a wedding band.

The history of beads dates back about 40 thousand years. Beads have been made by every culture in history since the earliest sign of man. The Egyptians were making glass beads by 1365 B.C. and there are several thousand-year-old glass factories that are still in production in Lebanon. There is evidence that China has been making and exporting glass beads for centuries. Burial sites of many cultures are a common place to find glass and brass beads.
Before the North Americans interacted with the Europeans, beads were made from gold, jade, bone, turquoise, and shells. Indians from the Pacific coast traded seashells to the Southwest Indians. Indians from the Atlantic coast and the Gulf of Mexico traded beads to the people of the Mississippi River valley.
A major resource of glass beads used in the fur trade was Venice, Italy. Venetians held a near monopoly on the bead industry for almost 600 years. A guild of Venetian glass makers existed in 1224 A. D. Around 1291, a large portion of the Venetian glass industry moved to Murano, an island north of Venice. City fathers feared that an accident with one of the glass furnaces could destroy the city.
For over two hundred years, beads were prepared in Murano by a method known as “winding.” With this method, beads were made individually by drawing a molten glob of glass out of the furnace and winding it around an iron rod. Glass of another color could then be attached, or the bead could be decorated with a design. Coloring agents were added to the molten glass: cobalt made blue; copper produced green; tin made a milky white; and gold resulted in red. Wound beads from a master glassmaker were so perfect it was hard to find a seam where the different molten glasses merged.
Another method was blown glass beads. Using this method, a glob of molten glass was taken out from the furnace and the desired shape obtained by blowing through a glass tube; much the same way glass vases are made.

As you may now know, tungsten carbide is the hardest metal you can get in the form of a ring. It is great because it doesn’t get scratched, but some have voiced concerns that in an emergency the ring will be very difficult to remove.
Some retailers sell tungsten carbide rings that contain cobalt, these are cheaper to make but have the downside of causing a reaction with the oils in our skin. Cobalt can cause an allergic reaction and leave a green mark on your skin, and sometimes permanently stain your ring.
Another benefit of having a ring that will snap in two is if you for example you accidentally close a car door on your ring, a softer ring will deform and squeeze your finger, probably cutting off circulation and will then need to be removed immediately to avoid harm. A tungsten carbide ring will either shatter or nothing will happen at all, either way your finger should escape safely.
In any situation where there might be a medical necessity to cut off or remove a tungsten ring–for instance excessive weight gain, hand injury, etc.–removing a tungsten ring doesn’t pose much more of a challenge than cutting through a gold or platinum wedding band. In our own jewelry shop, as in many other jewelry shops, we have a cutting tool designed for cutting titanium and tungsten wedding bands. In addition, tungsten bands can be fractured into pieces using vise-grip pliers.
When we contacted our local hospital emergency room and asked if they were equipped to remove tungsten wedding bands in an emergency, they told us that most hospital emergency rooms are prepared to handle almost anything, and assured us that it would be no problem for them.

Beads and bead bracelets have become more trendy in recent years. Used for thousands of years as decorative elements, bead bracelets date back in usage to the ancient cultures of the Babylonians and Assyrians. Bead bracelets have also been used for religious reasons for just as long. Modern religions still use beads and bead bracelets in their daily rituals. In using beads and bead bracelets in both decorative and religious ways, humans are continuing thousands of years of rich tradition.
Ancient cultures used beads composed of primitive materials like stones and bone for a variety of reasons. Tribal religious leaders would give them to warriors to wear into battle. The belief was that the beads would fill the wearer with strength and courage. Beads were also used in healing rituals. Beads were later used as a form of currency by some North American Native American tribes, such as in the purchase of Manhattan Island in New York.
There are many religions which use beads. Buddhist use special prayer beads known as malas. They are essentially prayer counters, and the user will rotate the bead in their hand while reciting the mantra and then moving on to the next bead. Catholics will use rosary beads to keep track of their prayer recitations. These beads are categorized by “decades” for one particular prayer, and different prayers are said at other junctures. Muslims use prayer beads known as misbaha, when reciting particular prayers.
Beads and bracelets have been used as jewelry for millennia. Utilizing a vast assortment of materials ranging from the primitive to the precious, bead bracelets have experienced the ebb and flow of fashion trends for centuries. Queen Victoria of Great Britain did a great deal to popularize bead bracelets towards the end of the 19th century. It was partially because of that status that beads transcended from materials like silver and gold to platinum and diamond. Today bead bracelets are experiencing a resurgence in popularity, thanks to interchangeable beads and highly customizable bracelet possibilities.
Bead bracelets, used thousands of years ago for religious purposes, are still used for that reason today. Not merely decorations, these bracelets serve a purpose, helping faithful practitioners in their daily devotions. Although bead bracelets are popular now as jewelry, that trend might change, as it has for centuries. Sacred beads, however, are an immortal link to centuries of religious tradition.

Finding beads and making bead bracelets with your children can be a fantastic activity. Building bead bracelets as a family will allow you to bring out the creative side in your children and let you to spend some quality time with them. Giving the children something to focus on will also enable you to get away from all the screaming, yelling, and running around for a short while.
What will help is that this is not an overly complicated activity. It is both fun and straightforward, which is great for kids. Some of the supplies you will need are: beads, string, bracelet clasps, measuring tape, and scissors. The measuring tape and the bracelet clasps are not as critical to making the bracelet as the other three items. There are ways to get around not having these items when making your bead bracelets, so don’t worry if you can’t find them.
To start, you will want to find a nice work area that will offer each individual enough space to lay out all their supplies. A kitchen table or large dining room table is best. These will give a large enough work area for every one of the participants, so they are not on top of each other. If it is a nice summer day, going outside and using a picnic table would be great too.
Once everyone is settled into their own space we can begin the creation process. After placing each of the items in front of everyone, start by measuring the wrist of the person that the bead bracelet is being made for. You can do this using the measuring tape and a pen. Take the measurement of the wrist and then make a mark on the string where it should be cut. If you do not have measuring tape you can just wrap the thread around the wrist and show where it needs to be cut that way. Be sure to leave some leeway on the ends of the string to allow for the addition of the clasps and beads.
After you have measured and cut the string, tie one end into a knot and connect one piece of the clasp. After the knot is made, you can let the children put the beads however they desire. Do not stress time with the kids during this section of the creation process. Creating the design will be the part of the bracelet that is the most fun for the children. Because this will be the most fun for them, you should try to buy different types of beads. When the children are finished adding all their beads you can make your last knot. The second part of the clasp will be connected to this knot while it secures the beads in place. Now the bead bracelets are complete and ready to be worn by their creators.
